The coronavirus has a large impact on the world. The measures have been tightened up again. We would like to keep you informed, because we can only get the corona virus under control together. Therefore, keep a close eye on your e-mail, and carefully follow the guidelines of Workstead and the company you work for. We trust you will take the advice seriously and try to prevent the virus from spreading as much as possible. You can trust us to do that too.
Coughing, shortness of breath or a fever?
Please contact your Workstead location directly. We will then discuss together what you can do best, for example request a corona test from the GGD. Do not keep walking around with your complaints for too long, otherwise the chance that you will infect colleagues or housemates is very high.
We would like to repeat the well-known advice in order to prevent the virus from spreading as much as possible. Stick to the following basic rules:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water
- Cough and sneeze into your elbow
- Do not shake hands
- Make sure there is enough fresh air in your home
- Do a test in case of (mild) complaints
Do you work less hours than normally as a consequence of the coronavirus, and you are worried about your income or the future? Then contact a jobcoach. We want to see what we can do for you. We can for instance see if it’s possible that you work at another client who has more work.
The safety of our employees is our priority. We count on your efforts and hope that with these measures we can prevent spreading the virus.
Government measures
Good news: the Netherlands is opening up again! This is done in 3 steps.
Step 1
From 15 February onwards, the advice not to receive more than 4 people at home is no longer valid.
Step 2
As of 18 February, the following relaxations and measures apply:
- All locations may again be open until 01h00.
- The coronavirus entry pass must be shown at all public locations, such as restaurants, theatres and concert halls, museums, cinemas, zoos, amusement parks, saunas and casinos. At sports venues the corona admission ticket is valid from the age of 18.
- At locations where the coronavirus entry pass must be shown, it is no longer compulsory to have a fixed seat, to keep a distance of 1.5 metres and wear a mouth mask.
- In locations with more than 500 people, a fixed seat and the wearing of a mouth mask when moving around are still required.
- The isolation advice after a positive test is shortened to 5 days, provided there are no symptoms for 24 hours.
Step 3
As of 25 February, the following relaxations and measures apply:
- Normal opening hours apply again
- The coronavirus entry pass will no longer be required at locations where fewer than 500 people are present.
- The compulsory 1.5 metre distance is abolished.
- It is no longer necessary to wear a mouth mask when moving around in the catering industry, in education or in shops.
- There is no longer a maximum number of visitors in shops and other locations.
- A fixed seat is no longer compulsory in the catering industry.
- In places where more than 500 people come together and do not have a fixed seat, everyone must show a negative test result. (Trade fairs and conferences excepted)
- It remains compulsory to wear a mouth mask in public transport and at the airport.
Booster vaccination
Because of the omicron variant, every person over 18 has been offered a booster. This booster can help to increase protection against this variant and prevent it from spreading. It is an extra shot that helps to keep the protection against the coronavirus high. You can get the shot 3 months after the last vaccination or corona infection. It is possible to get the booster shot, but also the 1st and 2nd shot, without an appointment. Look for more information on https://prikkenzonderafspraak.rijksoverheid.nl/en
Travelling from and to the Netherlands
For a trip within the European Union you need a corona pass. You will receive a corona passport if you have been fully vaccinated or if you can show that you have had corona. If you cannot, you will have to show a negative corona test. What kind of test and what papers you need can be read in the travel advice. So before you go abroad, check te travel advice for the country of destination.
If you have any questions, contact your jobcoach.
-
What should I do if I have complaints that fit the coronavirus?
Do you suffer one or more of the complaints below?
- Have a cold
- A sore throat
- A fever (above 38 degrees)
- Tightness of the chest or shortness of breath
Report your complaints directly to Workstead and contact your jobcoach to discuss the situation. In consultation we will advise you to do a corona test at the GGD. If the result is negative, there is nothing to worry about. When the result is positive, we will discuss the options for temporary home quarantine.
Only call the doctor if your sickness gets worse or you need medical help, for example when you have high fever or have trouble breathing. Do not go to the doctor or the hospital, but call the doctor.

A chauffeur from Workstead brings me to work. How will this go now?
In case a chauffeur from Workstead normally brings you to work, this will go slightly different now. People from other houses will not be picked up anymore. You are in the bus with a maximum of 2 housemates. If you show complaints that fit the coronavirus, our chauffeur can refuse to transport you. This way we try to prevent the spread of the virus to different houses.
- The driver will provide mouth masks that you have to put on in the car.
-
What measures should I take in my house?
We want to ask you to keep your house clean, together with your housemates. This will limit the chances of the virus spreading.
- Wash your hands with water and soap multiple times a day.
- Clean the objects that are touched often, such as the door handle, the water tap and the dinner table, extra well and more often.
- Provide sufficient fresh air in your home.
-
What happens if I am infected, or one of my housemates is infected with the coronavirus?
The better you and your housemates stick to the measures, the smaller the chances that one of you gets infected. Do you suffer from a cold, a sore throat, coughing, fever and/or difficulty breathing? Stay away from your housemates as much as possible and contact a jobcoach to discuss this. Together we decide what is best to do.
Are the symptoms so intense that you are likely to carry the virus with you? Then we have the possibility to put you in quarantine in another house.
